Hummer H2
The Hummer H2 is a flashy, oversized off-road SUV that doesn't actually offer many practical features. It does, however, turn heads. Buyers agree that it feels as though the car was designed more for looks than reliability or performance. More so, it is incredibly heavy on fuel, making it somewhat of a nightmare for everyday drivers.
Toyota Celica “Action Package” (Final Gen)
The Toyota Celica "Action Package" looked as though it should have been one of the fastest cars on the road at the time. In reality, it lacked heavily in performance, offering nothing impressive in terms of power and poor acceleration. More so, the car experienced frequent issues, leading to plenty of unhappy buyers.
Mitsubishi Eclipse (Late Models)
While the early Mitsubishi Eclipse models were well designed, the same can't be said for the later models. It's safe to say that the car had a niche look to it that only appealed to some buyers. For others, it was simply too flashy and didn't offer the performance to back it up.
Pontiac Aztek
With the Aztek, Pontiac aimed for a futuristic and stylish car that could be used for all sorts of driving. However, in reality, it ended up looking awkward and didn't appeal to many. Additionally, it offered a sub-par performance that left most buyers dissapointed in their purchase.
Hyundai Veloster
The Hyundai Veloster drove pretty well, but it definitely didn't appeal to many buyers. For starters, it had a awkward three-door design that simply wasn't practical for everyday driving. It also had limited interior and cargo space. Overall, the car was more of a gimmick than anything else, leading to low sales numbers.
Chevrolet SSR
By simply looking at the car, it's easy to see why the Chevrolet SSR didn't do too well in terms of sales. It was a retro-styled convertible pickup that confused just about anybody who saw it. While the car didn't actually perform too badly, it simply wasn't many drivers' cup of tea.
Chrysler PT Cruiser GT
The Chrysler PT Cruiser GT drove incredibly well. It was turbocharged and had great handling abilities, despite the unique design. However, many drivers couldn't get past the cartoon look of it and ended up opting for something a little bit more conventional. The front-end of the car, in particular, stood out like a sore thumb.
Nissan Juke
The Nissan Juke was average in just about every aspect - except when it came to its looks and not in a good way. Overall, drivers agreed that the car tried far too hard to be different, even though it offered nothing special in terms of performance.
Scion XB (Second Gen)
The Scion XB (Second Gen) is the definition of a boxy car. There's no denying that it had a niche design that appealed to a very limited audience. The car didn't drive particulalry badly, but most people just couldn't get past the strange aesthetic. It did, however, offer a lot of interior space, making it a practical option.
Dodge Neon SRT-4
The Dodge Neon SRT-4 is only suited to a very limited audience, as the car has a cramped interior and cargo space. More so, it features an incredibly unique design that screams 'wannabe racer'. In reality, though, its performance is nothing special, making it a major let down for many buyers.
Ford Mustang V6
While the Ford Mustang is undeniably one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time, the V6 model didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other Mustangs, it didn't have the performance to back up the styling. In fact, buyers felt as though it was pretending to be a muscle car, as it didn't actually have any of the muscle.
Honda Civic (Newer Models)
While some Honda Civic models are known for their reliability and great design, newer models have started to look a bit flashy for the general public. Looking at the car, you would think that it is a decked-out sports car. In reality, however, it is a standard compact car that prioritizes practicality over performace.
Chevrolet Camaro “Transformer Edition”
The Chevrolet Camaro is another undeniably successful muscle car that many people label their dream vehicle. However, the Transformer edition of the car was a bit too flashy for many. Going forwarrd, the car was constantly linked to the film and its design showed this.
BMW X6
The BMW X6 is actually a pretty great car - except when it comes to its styling. Drivers felt as though it was trying to be everything at once, as it was advertized as a coupe-SUV mashup. In other words, the car lacked any sort of real identity, leading to low sales numbers.
Mercedes-Benz CLA
Looking at the Mercedes-Benz CLA, you would think that it is some type of luxury coupe. In reality, there is nothing luxurious about it. It drives and is built like an economy car. Many drivers also found its aggressive appearance a bit too flashy, leading to low sales numbers.
Jeep Wrangler
While some of the early Jeep Wrangler models looked a bit more understated, the same can't be said for the newer models. They feature what experts like to call mall-parking flash. To many drivers, the car is just too extravagant, with needless design additions that have no real practical value.
Infiniti QX80
The Infiniti QX80 may appeal to some drivers, but most agree that it is just too much. The massive grille, in particular, put off a lot of buyers, as it screams excess. Additionally, it has no real practical value, making the car look unnecessarily flashy.
Cadillac ELR
Cadillac has always been known for their extravagant vehicles and the ELR is no different. While the car tried to be a luxury hybrid sports coupe, it fell short and lacked any sort of real substance. In fact, many buyers felt as though the luxurious design was all for show.
Toyota C-HR
While Toyota is usually known for their reliable and well-designed vehicles, the C-HR didn't get the memo. Essentially, it was an over-styled compact crossover that didn't have the performance to back up claims. In the end, it left many buyers disappointed in their purchase.
