Heavy Fuel-Eating Vehicles to Skip in 2025
Nowadays, one of the top characteristics that most people look for in a car is fuel efficiency. After all, an efficient and economical car will save you a fortune on gas money in the long run. However, certain manufacturers simply didn’t get the memo. Let’s take a closer look at 35 gas-guzzling cars that will drain your wallet in 2025.
Bugatti Chiron
The Bugatti Chiron is widely considered somewhat of an automotive masterpiece, and, looking at the car, it’s easy to see why. However, when it comes to gas-saving, let’s just say that there aren't any innovations in terms of minimizing fuel consumption. With an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine, the Chiron is a major gas-guzzler.
Lamborghini Aventador
The Lamborghini Aventador is aggressive in both style and design, as well as in its driving dynamics. Featuring a massive 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, it’s safe to say that the car isn’t exactly light on gas. It does drive fast, though, so if you can afford the hefty fuel price, we say go for it!
Nissan Patrol
Nissan is one of those car manufacturers that typically designs practical and efficient cars. However, the Patrol is a bit of an outlier. With the Patrol, you can expect to travel between 13 and 16 miles per gallon of fuel, which is significantly less than most everyday vehicles.
Toyota Land Cruiser 300
Toyota is a car brand renowned for its efficiency and reliability. Unfortunately, the Land Cruiser range doesn’t quite stack up to these expectations. Although the Land Cruiser 300 is a magnificent car, it is also very heavy on fuel.
Dodge Durango SRT
On a single gallon of fuel, the Dodge Durango SRT only covers about 16 to 18 miles of road. Compared to more practical vehicles, this is pretty dismal, leading to hefty gas bills. It’s safe to say that the Durango isn’t designed for everyday driving, even though it does offer an impressive and comfortable ride.
Chevrolet Tahoe
Chevrolet has designed some rather questionable vehicles over the years, as well as some stunners. The Tahoe finds itself somewhere in between. Even though it offers a great ride and looks spectacular, it is also extremely heavy on petrol, making it a bit of a money pit.
Nissan Z (Manual Version)
There are plenty of fuel-efficient Nissans out there for you to choose from. However, the Z (manual version) isn’t one of them.
Ford Expedition
Ford is perhaps known as the most reliable and trustworthy automotive brand in the world. However, even though they have some stunning models available, the Expedition isn’t for everyone. It is great for off-road adventures, but unfortunately, it’s also a gas guzzler.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
Jeep’s Grand Cherokee line is arguably the most successful and well-known off-road vehicle range in the world. Known for its rugged design and sheer capabilities, there is a lot to love about the Trackhawk. However, it takes a lot of fuel to meet such performance standards.
BMW X7 M6Oi
The BMW X7 M6Oi covers just 15 to 18 miles on a single gallon of fuel. Some people think that the sheer performance capabilities of this car are worth the hefty price tag, while others simply can’t justify spending so much on fuel when there are much more practical vehicles on offer.
Mercedes-AMG G63
The Mercedes-AMG G63 is one of the biggest gas-guzzlers on our list. On a single gallon of fuel, it covers just 13 to 14 miles! If you are someone who drives often or far, this definitely isn’t the standout choice.
Audi RS Q8
Audi is often associated with class, style, and luxury, and the RS Q8 is no different. Covering just 14 to 16 miles on a single gallon of fuel, you’ll be sure to spend a small fortune on gas every month.
Jaguar F-Type R
Jaguar is one of the most luxurious automotive brands out there. However, a powerful engine comes with a hefty price, and it usually presents itself at the fuel pump.

Lexus LX 600
While the Lexus LX 600 manages to blend luxury with off-road capability, fuel efficiency definitely isn’t its strong suit. After all, it is a full-size SUV. With a combined MPG of 19, it isn’t the heaviest on fuel, but it also isn’t the lightest.
Infiniti QX80
The Infiniti QX80 is known for its innovation and refinement. However, it is still a full-size SUV, and as a result, it is a bit heavy on the fuel pump. You can expect a combined MPG of 18, which is rather dismal when compared to some of the lighter vehicles on the market.
GMC Yukon XL
The GMC Yukon XL is another full-size SUV that prioritizes comfort, space, and power over anything else, including fuel economy. Although the car offers a memorable performance, your bank account will take a hit, especially if you drive frequently and long distances.
Maserati Levante Trofeo
If you are driving a Maserati Levante Trofeo, chances are that staying on budget isn’t exactly your top priority. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the car is extremely heavy on fuel. For drivers who have the money, though, the performance outweighs the bill.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is yet another vehicle that prioritizes performance over everything else. This beast of an SUV blends top-class performance with reliability, at the cost of fuel efficiency, however.
Bentley Bentayga V8
Bentley has long since been associated with class, luxury, and style, and the Bentayga V8 is no different. With an average fuel use of 5.6 gallons per 100 miles, it’s safe to say that this supercar isn’t for the everyday driver. It does look and feel great, though!
Rolls-Royce Cullinan
Although Rolls-Royce has had its fair share of issues as a brand, they are undeniably up there with some of the most luxurious manufacturers in the world. While the Lamborghini Urus may deliver a show-stopping performance, it definitely isn’t friendly to the fuel pump. To be fair, though, most Lamborghini drivers aren’t overly concerned about saving money.
Subaru WRX STI
The Subaru WRX STI is a rally-bred performance car. As you would expect, however, it is also pretty heavy on fuel.
Mercedes-AMG E63 S

Ferrari Purosangue
The Purosangue is Ferrari’s first-ever SUV. As you would expect, the car is bold and brilliant in just about every aspect. Ferrari doesn’t do anything half-heartedly, which is exactly why the fuel consumption of the beast isn’t overly surprising. If you're willing to spend a fortune on fuel every month, the Purosangue might just be the perfect car for you.
Dodge Challenger Hellcat
The Dodge Challenger Hellcat is an icon when it comes to muscle cars. It’s fast, loud, and, for lack of a better word, utterly show-stopping. However, this comes at a price, and it is the heavy fuel consumption.
Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

BMW M5
The BMW M5 is a high-performance SUV that blends style with power. With this being said, it’s not exactly shy at the fuel pump. Additionally, it uses premium fuel, which only adds to the cost of filling up.
Audi RS7

Although certain models of the MG5 sedan are pretty decent in terms of fuel efficiency, the older versions are anything but. With that being said, the car does offer a thrilling ride.
