Anyone Can Buy These Military Tanks Today
Whether you’re an avid collector of military vehicles or just want something to deter other drivers from cutting you off on the road, you’ll find that UK's TANKS-ALOT has plenty of great armoured vehicles on offer, and this list collects the best of the best.
Land Rover Lightweight V8
Lightweight and powered by a rip-roaring V8, this Land Rover model makes for perfect summer driving through a war-torn countryside. Now, you can enjoy the thrill of driving a platoon of infantrymen to their doom for yourself, all for the low-low price of £13600!
FASTMANMOG / MAN HX
Intended to directly compete with the likes of the Fasttracks and Unimogs, this lightweight and low-mileage military Man HX is perhaps a tad bold in its naming, but it’s had plenty of work done to ensure that it rises above its competition.
Land Rover Wolf 110 Hardtop Remus Upgrade
With just under 62,000 miles on the clock, this Land Rover Wolf hasn’t seen nearly as much action as some of its less fortunate factory brothers. Still, with a powerful engine and immense stature, it more than makes up for its lack of experience on the battlefield.
DAF Gun/Beaters Wagon
This DAF Gun/Beaters Wagon still features its military-green coat of paint, but it’s been modified somewhat to accommodate a more civilian lifestyle. Featuring steps, seats, a soft top with windows specially adapted for the job, and a soft carpet for your dogs, this vehicle is sure to give you many long years of good service.
A Pair of Samaritans
You know what’s better than one ambulance-cum-tank? That’s right: two! These Samaritans are an offshoot of the CVRT family of military vehicles, with both being in great condition with low mileage, and a Cummins turbo diesel engine.
Saracen ‘POA
This truly monstrous machine still holds up well, which should be no surprise due to its heavy-duty construction. The interior is a little dirty and could do with a little refurbishing, but the exterior and internal mechanics of this Saracen ‘POA are all still just as reliable and solid as the day they were made.
Samaritans FV104
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our own list so far, it’s that Samaritans come in pairs. Both models included in this entry are still running well and have no visible exterior damage that we can make out. They can also accommodate up to 6 casualties - perfect if you’re the designated driver on a night out on the town!
All Terrain Tele Handler JCB 524 50
Designed to lift and handle all manner of rubble and debris, these All Terrain Tele Handlers are robust in their construction and capable of lifting up to 2.4 tons at once! Of course, with a staggering top speed of 12.4 mph, you’re unlikely to win any drag races with these any time soon.
TACTICA ARMOURED VEHICLE
An armored vehicle that actually has a sense of style, this Tactica model was designed for police use and features a sleek, intimidating black coat of paint. Every inch of this vehicle is fully armored, from the body to the windows, allowing it to withstand anything short of an RPG blast.
Pinzgauer Vector
Pinzgauer is kind of like the European equivalent of Jeep, manufacturing vehicles for military forces across yonder pond. These Vector models primarily served as troop carriers and occasional ambulances, and are fully capable of handling any and all kinds of terrain.
CVRT Sultan FV105
A fully-charged “mini-tank”, this CVRT Sultan FV105 has been fully stripped down and rebuilt to ensure its mechanical soundness. It’s had a fresh coat of paint slapped on, too, so while it’s by no means in “original condition”, it should serve its function well without fail.
Snatch Armoured Land Rovers
This one’s a little misleading - there are actually 13 of these armoured Land Rovers to go around! You can buy an entire fleet if you want, or just settle for one. Either way, each model has around 25,000 to 30,000 miles on the odometer and has had their armoured glass replaced or refurbished where needed.
Block of 5 Snatch Armoured Land Rovers
If you were only looking to purchase one armoured Land Rover, we recommend perusing the rest of this list for a suitable entry. Otherwise, these 5 Land Rovers - sold as one block - are all up to snuff, with new or refurbished glasswork where needed.
Stalwart MK1 AOR416B
Speaking of nights out, we all know how crazy those can get, and a few drinks can lead you to all kinds of places - like the bottom of the river. Should you anticipate the worst, this Stalwart MK1 AOR416B could be a lifesaver due to its fully amphibious construction and capabilities. It’s also perfectly road-legal, somehow.
Scorpion Light Tank
Well, driving one of these is one way to stop people from cutting you off in traffic. We’re not entirely sure as to the legality of owning a literal tank and having it in your backyard, but we do know that it’ll likely do wonders for the security of your property.
CVRT Samson FV106 Recovery Tank
If you liked the sound of the previous entry, this next one will make for a perfect companion to that vehicle. The CVRT Samson FV106 Recovery Tank was designed to recover, well, tanks, but really shouldn’t be operated without the proper training.
6 Spartan (to Be Sold as a Block)
And if having one huge monstrosity taking up all your yard space wasn’t enough, never fear, because tanks-alot also have this block of 6 Spartan armoured personnel carriers up for grabs, too!
CVRT Striker 07FF58
This CVRT Striker is a rather rare model kept in fantastic condition as it awaits its new owner. While it’s probably a bit overkill for running errands, it can easily be made road-legal, as well as MOT and tax-exempt.
Airport Crash Tender 10442
Designed as an emergency vehicle for plane crashes, this Airport Crash Tender may be a rather morbid armoured vehicle, but then again, which of these aren’t? It’s in great condition, and still spurts foam from its hose on top. You can use it to clean the roof.
Airport Crash Tender RH15AA
If the previous one wasn’t quite what you’re looking for, then maybe this other Airport Crash Tender will be more to your liking. Like the previous one, it’s been well-maintained and hasn’t seen much action, but if your rich friend’s plane ever goes down over the Thames, you’ll be a hero!
Saracen With Turret KF0428
Despite being garage-stored as part of its previous owner’s private collection, this Saracen model still runs perfectly, and features its original turret, as well as a Rolls-Royce engine under the… hood?
Man Hx 064467 Lorry
This exceptionally clean Man Hx Lorry hasn’t seen a lick of combat or action since it was manufactured, making it almost brand new. It still runs perfectly and with its onboard AC, power steering, and air seats in the front, it could make for a great family camper.
Land Rover Wolf 134096
The Land Rover Wolf series is one of the most popular military vehicles and tends to see extensive use. This one’s no exception, a fact made obvious by the few minor dents and scratches here and there. Besides these cosmetic blemishes, it still runs perfectly, and has already been road-registered!
RWMIK DEFENDERS
Designed to handle a variety of weapons and the soldiers who fire them, these RWMK Defenders are perfect for reducing small villages to rubble with a few friends! Of course, their breeziness means they’re better suited to summer escapades than winter shenanigans.
Land Rover Wolf 146159
Like the previous entry, this Wolf has a few battle scars of its own already, but nothing that would drastically affect the quality and performance of the vehicle. It’s still perfectly drivable, with less than 5,000 miles on the odometer.
Pinzgauer 4039/79KL39
This Pinzgauer model was originally part of a parachuting regiment, with a drop-down soft top and sides to accommodate the transport of heavy pallets and equipment. All in all, it could make for a decent workhorse depending on your needs.
Wolf Special Piggie Model 145377
Like the previous model, this Land Rover Wolf was also specially modified to be used as part of a parachuting regiment. It’s a rare vehicle since most of its brothers were lost in training or combat - this poor little piggie needs a home!
432 Armoured Personnel Carrier
What better way to show up at the club with your mates than with this armoured personnel carrier? Able to fit up to 12 people in the back as well as a driver and commander in front, it’s certainly not lacking in space, and it still drives well today.
Abbott Self-Propelled Gun
We wouldn’t recommend pulling up to the club in this particular tank model - you probably wouldn’t find any parking space. That said, you could always make your own space with its self-propelled gun…
432 Armoured Personnel Carrier
Intended for use in the fleet of some despot-prince somewhere, this particular armoured personnel carrier couldn’t make it to the phone when it received the call of duty. Now, it sits waiting for a new owner, and that owner could be you.
Diesel Sultan CVRT SUL191
Already an exceptionally rare model, this Sultan CVRT is made even better by its low mileage of just 54 miles. Other than that, it’s in perfect working order, and could make a fine addition to a fleet or a collection.
Land Rover Wolf 140190
We now have enough Land Rover Wolf’s on our list to make a whole pack. This particular model has been fitted with a new engine, but everything else on it - and inside it - is still original, and in surprisingly great condition.
T34/85 Russian Main Battle Tank
Probably one of the most unique vehicles on this list, this battle tank was left to rot on some battlefield over 25 years ago, making it a real, living piece of history. Since then, it’s had a complete overhaul to get it back in shape.
Yamaha Grizzly Quad JM16AB
While it may not provide much protection for anywhere but the crotch area, maybe this armoured quad bike does come equipped with a handy lunch box on the rear, perfect for a Sunday picnic.
Pinzgauer Ambulance 5214
Though it may have served as an ambulance once, this Pinzgauer model would make for a fantastic camper due to its built-in power points and on-board AC.
