1965-1973 Ford Mustang
Speaking of the Ford Mustang, that brings us to our next entry. But you might be wondering why it's here. Surely early Mustangs are worth a fortune today? Not really! Due to high production numbers, they aren't as rare as other classic cars. And that's reflected in the valuation. Some models could fetch about $14,000 today.
1991-2002 Dodge Viper
Hoping to get your hands on a first-generation Dodge Viper? Well, you could buy one without breaking the bank today. These cars are surprisingly undervalued. We're talking $35,000 on the low-end of the price scale. Not bad for a stylish motor that's equipped with a powerful V10 engine, right?
1977-1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9
What happens if you combine a sedan with a muscle car? You get the Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9! This car debuted in the late 1970s, but it struggled to find much fanfare at the time. While it's certainly more appreciated now, valuations don't really reflect that. You could nab a '77 model for roughly $24,000 today.
1982-1991 Porsche 944
Is the Porsche 944 as beloved as the 911? Probably not. But does that make it a bad car? No way! This retro vehicle from the '80s is something of a forgotten classic — it handles like a dream. And it won't cost an arm and leg to buy one today. The valuation sits between $15,000 and $40,000.
1978-1986 Toyota Supra
The Toyota Supra of the late 1970s is still a tremendous car. And the same can be said for the models from the early '80s, too. Yet these vehicles are nowhere near as expensive as you might think now. Their valuation fluctuates between $11,000 and over $13,000.
1992-1994 Autozam AZ-1
To say that the Autozam AZ-1 is an eye-catching car would be a major understatement. It's so unique! This cult classic from the '90s has its fans today — but it's still undervalued compared to lots of other motors from that time. The average valuation sits at roughly $21,000.
1965-1966 Ford Mustang GT Fastback
Shocked to see another Mustang on the list? We don't blame you! The GT Fastback models of the mid-'60s were awesome cars. But they aren't ultra-expensive today. You could bag one for under $40,000, which is a huge bargain. Not many classic cars sell for a figure like that.
2000-2003 Honda S2000
The Honda S2000 vehicles from the early 2000s are gorgeous cars. Surely they're worth big money today? Nope! These stylish efforts are severly undervalued — and that's great news if you want to buy one. The typical sales price now is roughly $25,000. It's very tempting, right?
1981-1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6
With its powerful V6 engine and eye-catching body, the Alfa Romeo GTV6 turned a lot of heads during the 1980s. It was an easy car to love! Yet the motor's value doesn't quite reflect that nowadays. Incredibly, you could nab a retro GTV6 from that period for around $15,000.
Volkswagen Beetle
Is the Volkswagen Beetle one of the most beloved cars ever created? It's certainly in the conversation. Despite its legions of fans, though, this classic model is somewhat undervalued today. Much like with the early Mustangs, high production numbers have played a role in that. But you could benefit! '60s Beetles range from $15,000 to $20,000.
1990-1995 Chevrolet Corvette C4 ZR-1
Classic Chevrolet Corvettes can cost a lot money today. Yet that's not the case with the C4 ZR-1. Some blame that on the car's angular body, which is certainly unique. It's still a great performer, though, and should probably have a higher valuation than $10,000 to $20,000 now. That's quite the bargain!
1984-1991 Honda CRX
The Honda CRX was a real no-frills motor during the 1980s. It was easy to drive, fun to ride in, and wasn't overly bulky. An unassuming classic! But how much are they worth today? Not a lot. You could pay up to $10,000 to nab an '84 CRX now. That's a steal.
1984-1999 Toyota MR2
The first two generations of the Toyota MR2 are undeniable classics. They're such cool cars! But these motors are surprisingly undervalued today. The average price for a first-gen MR2 from 1984 is roughly $12,000. That's a super-low number if you're interested in buying one.
2001-2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Boasting a monstrous V8 engine and a stylish body, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 from the early 2000s is still a stunning car to look at. Surely it's worth big money now? That's not the case. A 2001 Z06 can usually be had for under $22,000 today. We're serious!
2001-2006 BMW M3
The BMW M3 from the early 2000s is a very impressive motor. Great handling? Check. A strong engine? Check. Fun to drive? Absolutely! But despite all its strengths, this model isn't as expensive as you might've imagined. Today, the typical price usually sits at just under $25,000.
1959-1970 Datsun Sports
It might not be a stone cold icon like the 240Z, but the Datsun Sports is still a wonderful retro car. It's definitely undervalued compared to other motors from that era, which is great news if you're in the market for one! Yes, the average figure comes to roughly $20,000.
1967-1970 Mercury Cougar
The Ford Mustang left a lot of cars in the dust when it first came out. Among them was the first-generation Mercury Cougar — an awesome vehicle in its own right. The two were fairly similar. Today, you could grab this undervalued classic for as little as $15,500.
1991-1996 Subaru SVX
You can't say that the Subaru SVX is a boring car. It's arguably one of the most unique models from the '90s! The vehicle's strange appearance might explain why it's undervalued today, as the average price usually sits between $3,000 and $15,000. Talk about a bargain.
1959-1976 Plymouth Valiant
The Plymouth Valiant is a really cool retro car. It proved to be a great drive back in the 1960s! But will buying one today shatter your bank balance? It's unlikely. Classic Valiants are valued between $10,000 and $20,000. A very welcome price, wouldn't you agree?
1965-1980 MGB GT
It might not be the biggest car in the world, but the MGB GT has found a lot of love over the years. It's a very nice motor. Pricey, though? Well, you may be surprised to learn that its valued from $5,000 to over $15,000 today.
1985-2001 Acura Integra
While the Type Rs are very valuable today, the same can't be said for other Acura Integra models. They're much further down the scale. For instance, second-gen GS-Rs can sell for just $10,000. Don't let the low prices fool you, though. These are still excellent motors to own
1990-1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata
High production numbers strike again, folks! First-gen Mazda MX-5 Miatas would be a lot more valuable today if fewer existed. But with so many on the market, you could grab one for an excellent price. Typically, they sell for just over $10,000 now.
1969-1978 Datsun Z
Sporting a slick, stylish body, the Datsun Z has always been a highly-coveted motor. It's great to drive! And all three models can be had for very reasonable prices today. The 240Z is valued at roughly $35,000, while the 260Z and the 280Z can dip to around $23,000.
1966-1985 Fiat 124 Sport Spider
Looking for a classic car that just oozes style? Well, say hello to the Fiat 124 Sport Spider. It's a beaut! And you won't have to pay through the nose to get one today. Boasting an average price of just over $12,000, it's grossly undervalued compared to other retro motors.
1953-1956 Ford F-100
An iconic truck that wowed drivers in the 1950s, the Ford F-100 still looks fantastic all these years later. It's one of the finest second-gen motors to roll off a production line! But does its current valuation reflect that? Not really. The average price is just over $31,000.
1966-1973 Jeepster Commando
The eye-catching two-tone body? The unique shape? Yes, the Jeepster Commando might not be a conventional classic, but it's still an awesome effort from the mid-1960s. It's also kindly-priced today, with the average figure sitting at around $25,000. Undervalued? You bet!
1956-1970 Volvo 122
Few classic cars can match the sheer coolness of the Volvo P1800. Mind you, the 122 model certainly comes close! It's an extremely stylish vehicle that demands your attention. Does it demand hundreds of thousands of dollars from collectors today, though? Nope. The typical price for a 122 is about $15,000.
1955-1975 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia has always been an underrated car. It looks great and performs well, but the Beetle seemed to steal its thunder at every turn in the past. Thanks to its status, it's not overpriced today. The average figure is roughly $24,000, which isn't bad at all.
1985-1992 Alfa Romeo Milano
The Alfa Romeo Milanos from the mid-1980s are just so dang likable. The boxy body's great, it handles brilliantly, and the V6 engine is more than solid. It's surprisingly undervalued now, with prices ranging from $7,000 to $16,000. There's a fantastic deal to be had here.
1957-1979 Ford Ranchero
We'll be blunt here — the Ford Ranchero is an absolute gem of a car. It looks gorgeous! But the Chevrolet El Camino always seemed to overshadow it, and that's certainly had an impact on its value today. Yes, prices usually sit between $11,000 and $18,000.
1974-1992 Volkswagen Scirocco
When the Karmann Ghia bowed out, Volkswagen replaced it with a brand-new model named the Scirocco. And boy, what a nice car this proved to be! It's stylish without being too in-your-face. Today, this classic has a price-tag that ranges from $7,000 to just under $15,000.
1959-1966 Studebaker Lark
How can you not love the Studebaker Lark? This is arguably one of the most eye-catching cars to come out of the '60s. But it's not priced like other classic motors from that period. The Lark has an average value of roughly $11,400 today.
1968-1970 AMC AMX
Chrysler, Ford, and GM all produced amazing muscle cars throughout the 1960s. Yet we can't forget about AMC here. The AMX is a fabulous motor that could stand up to any muscle car from that period. It's still somewhat undervalued today, though. The average price ranges from $27,000 to $36,000.
